Amphitrite by Termote

35.000 kilo bronze by the Belgium sculpturer Termote; representing Amphitrite, daughter of Nereus and goddess of the Sea, riding her seahorse. Dolphinos the dolphin mediates her return to marry Poseidon. Poseidon and Amphitrite’s son: Triton (half man, half fish) blows his horn. Even covered in the first wintersnow these Gods of the Sea with their symbols: the anchor and the dolphin (support, safety, trust and hope) gorggle to greet you! The fountain was a present of the employees to the Royal Dutch Steamboat Company (KNSM) for the 100 year anniversary in October 1956 .
