come and go

Today Kamagurka destroys the drawings he made the past 24hours on his Ipad. His act is part of the exhibition ‘move it‘ in Amsterdam. This exhibition “aims to discuss how pioneering technology for mobile applications change both contemporary art production and the way we perceive modern and contemporary art”. Or is it a demonstration of how to get media-attention?  Only the printed versions of his drawings are shredded, the newspaper will publish a selection of his drawings, the act is being recorded and shared and i guess the digital file will be archived. It sounds more like an Apple-promotion or bad PR if it was intended to stimulate discussion about art, since all the talk is about the destruction. I am curious if the dissemination of information about this performance is monitored and/or will receive the same amount of media-attention. I prefer Sagmeisters work that blends and integrates change and mixed use of ideas. And most of all because he does not claim to make art. It just is.banana wall sagmeister
